DREAMING OF THE BLACK MADONNA
Dreaming of the Black Madonna .
I am by the sea , there are women with me on retreat and I am speaking to them of the Black Madonna, the statue I show them is a hybrid. An ancient black statue of the Black Madonna fused with a contemporary Golden Black Madonna , the contrast is stark and powerful. I receive a transmission from this Black Mother, it is a teaching I am to give. The women stand around observing.
The symbol of the Black Madonna, the original primordial mother from which we all descend from held me in that dream of polarities , feeling the earth and the water , the women who gather in her name and the meeting of the ancient and the contemporary. I dream of her often and she never fails to leave me with the deep stirring of my soul. She awakens something in me ever time, and calls me to action. She reminds me of the ancient memories my body hold of the African origin of humanity, that we are all her children she brings an ancient wisdom that could ever be quantified..
“It is a memory that people all over the world carry. Because of this, blackness has a very strong symbolic meaning connected to love, nurturing, protection, transformation, power, wisdom, fertility, and justice.” Dr. Oleszkiewicz-Peralba
By reading these words I am bringing her to you now. The Black Madonna is a remembering in us all, to connect to her can stir up a our very cells and DNA into a symphony that sings to our ancestors. Oh Black Madonna,! Oh Black Madonna! Oh Black Madonna! is the way I can call her into my soul, into remembering this deepest of connections, this depth of love that has transcended time and space and connects us ALL regardless of our separation from one another.
She reminds us to worship the feminine, to bring back the adoration of the feminine principle within us all, within all things. She will show us the restoration of our world when we can once again place the feminine principle on the throne with a child in her arms and remember why this symbol is so powerful. What does this image symbolize for you? Write it down, try to journal all that it brings from your unconscious mind and see what that summons for you …
What is this feminine principle are you aware of yours in you?
I am not negating the masculine principle which is as sacred, holy, and of equal importance, because we hold both with us, but to acknowledge that the patriarchal world we live in, which has been projected from all of us into reality has dismissed, repressed, hidden isolated, raped and pillaged, humiliated, ridiculed and demonized the feminine in all human beings. We all created this, the collective unconscious creates the world we live in and as so many of us are unaware of how the feminine and masculine principles operate through us ( especially shadow behaviors) there is no wonder we live in a patriarchal society in the midst of utter chaos and destruction.
The feminine principle can literally save our world if she is to be made conscious in us all if she is to be freed from her shackles, healed from her pain, and integrated with the masculine.
But we all must acknowledge her. I truly want to include all gender appropriations here and believe that the gender boundaries are being pushed so we experience the feminine and masculine (animus and anima) outside of any restrictions, but most of all to bring consciousness to them.
I asked my own son last night ‘can you feel the feminine principle in you? What does she feel like? how does she interact with life through you?’ I could see the look in his eyes as he brought her forward into his consciousness for the first time. Yes we speak about this a lot, and to my delight, even his last college paper was on patriarchy, which he was pleased that his mother’s ramblings gave him some great essay content! However, it is something to have the knowledge and another to embody the wisdom by actually experiencing it. In those few seconds as I have seen the bewilderment in his eyes, I also actually saw her come forward as he realized her in him. I can’t imagine what that felt like for a 16-year-old boy to feel and acknowledge the feminine principle in him for the first time.
So I ask you to take a moment and close your eyes and a deep breath and connect to the feminine principle within you. Do you feel her? Say hello, greet this energy inside of you, she has been repressed for too long.
Celeste is my feminine principle, I feel her ancestry is deeply rooted in my mother’s lineage, she is Celt, Gaul and she remembers her life from the time she birthed from the Black Mother’s womb, into her incarnations of many skins, cultures, races and beliefs. She Is soft, gentle, sensitive, scarred, and scared. She is magical, mystical , holds the medicines of all her lives before and hides most of the time behind. my masculine principle ( Colin) shield and fierceness. Her deep introversion allows for my inner explorations, the seeking of the self , the soul and God. She has a place to serve such magic here , she does so with trepidation as the scars of her previous lives and this life live on her face. She remembers, she remembers the time when the adoration of the feminine principle reigned and she knows they will come again. She knows the world is going through the chaos of the Black Mother’s womb and knows order will come again once we all learn what we came to earth school to learn. She holds a deep love and hope for humanity. She is here to serve in which every way she can.
I speak with her often and am becoming more and more conscious in the ways in which she has served patriarchy, she is learning to be more confident, feel safer in a world that treats the feminine principle the way it does, she is becoming more obvious in me, standing by the side of my masculine principle Colin and not behind. I am healing her and acknowledging her through psychological applications, dreams , conversations, and my work.
It is time we worked on our feminine principles , slowly , gently loving them back to their thrones from which they were so violently ripped from.
“Perhaps one day the Black Madonna will regain her throne as the acknowledged Mother Goddess, the progenitor of reality, humanity, and the unifying element among spiritual traditions both ancient and modern. But for millions of devotees the world over who worship her, no such wait is necessary. Knowingly or subconsciously, these individuals practice a powerful form of worship that connects them to the very roots of humanity and even beyond, to the origins of the universe itself.” Patrick Collins
It’s time we looked beyond gender but rather into the Feminine and masculine principles that so desperately need our consciousness and healing. We must descend into her , learn to ‘be’ in this womb where all is destroyed and rebirthed and remember from where we came.
I have a transmission called The Original Mother … where you can experience a journey to the Original Black Mother and other teachings in my Black Rose Library.
