Today is a public holiday in France because its ascension day, 40 days after the resurrection of Christ and his journey to heaven.

      Whether you can connect to this story through your belief system or to is as a story that is in the collective mythos there is much to be felt on this day. This story even if it is just a story has much to show us, when I teach the archetypes I like to connect to other stories to illustrate certain behaviors such as ‘Cinderella’ and ‘The Maiden’ archetype or ‘Peter Pan’ and ‘The Eternal Child’ archetype. What message do these stories try to convey to us? What is the moral of the story? If we can begin to deconstruct them and apply our own perceptions of the behaviors, the characters, and the symbols then we can gather what this all might mean to us personally. 

We went to say goodbye to Saint Sara but were unable to get into the

church due to the looong mass that the church was holding for the

Ascension of Christ and I had to give myself a little talk about respecting the

loooong Catholic Mass and understand that today like other days with the

Black Madonna, Saint Sara was not available for me today. I had celebrated

her … and now it was time to celebrate Him. Who is Him? Jesus , Yeshua and

wow over the years my relationship has gone through many twists and

turns with Him, rejection,  connection, brotherhood, adoration,

disconnection, love, appreciation and where do I stand on this day I asked

myself? I pondered as I held the hand of my Beloved partner and my Beloved

Son and realized that He is the symbol of the masculine. Not only Him but

the hands that I held and the masculine within and all around me.  Saint Sara

had shown me only two days before; the masculine in honor of Her and the

feminine energy that scented the streets with sweet perfume, floral dresses,

gypsy skirts and the sublime sensuality a woman oozes when shows her

devotion.  I had witnessed that softness in the men who held out their hands

to her and opened their hearts as they sang from the bottom of their bellies. 

Today was about devotion to him, Christ as the symbol of the masculine, the masculine that walked this earth in service to humanity, who walked the earth in his archetypes to teach us all that we hold them within:

The Divine Man 

The Saviour 

The Redeemer 

The Hero 

The Logos (both definitions – the word of God and the animus)

The Son 

Judex Mundi – The king 

The archetype cannot be defined by one belief system or one religion, it

umbrellas many and this is why I love to use the archetypal patterns to

decode myths, stories, and even my client's lives as a key components to working

out the unconscious realms and the behavior that exists in the collective and

individuals.  

Christ is the archetypal ideal, the reflection of the individual's wholeness (

the self) which is present but unconscious.  Jung wrote that Christ was the

archetype of the self that informed the process of the individual ego joining

with the self, which for him included access to the collective unconscious.

Christ's primary motif is the unification of the physical body, the spiritual, and

the divine spirit and this is why many of us on a spiritual journey connect to

Him at some point because He is an example of what we all seek. 

He above all kept connected to his humanness even when he embodied the

archetypal energy of The Christ, embodying the ultimate goal of self and God

realization in being still connected and grounded in the human form. His

the story shows this possibility and even as he ascends as today celebrates he

remains connected to the people, his story serves as an example to live by,

learn from and know that the dizzy heights of the unification of body, soul

and mind is attainable. 

As I pondered and processed this I still at many times had hold of the hands

of the men in my life who show me appreciation, care, tenderness and love,

(ok sometimes not too! and me with them- we are humans aspiring to be like

this all the time,   by working on ourselves on the path, so we don’t want to

come across as holier than thou!) but the devotion to me is there I feel it and I

speculated about my own devotion, adoration to them, to the men in my life,

to the men in my world …. And though I am work in progress I know that I

have moved a long way in loving the masculine more than I ever have… but

that there is still much more to do and I believe that all women could admit

that. Imagine if we could all admit that? Men and Women, the masculine and

feminine principle in us all admitting we could do better?!!  .. then we would

surely be walking the Christed path* together.
