MAYA- THE VEILS OF ILLUSION

Maya, a concept rooted in Hindu philosophy and spirituality, represents the illusion or veil that obscures the true nature of reality. Derived from the Sanskrit word meaning "to measure" or "to create," Maya is often described as the deceptive appearance of the physical world, which leads individuals to perceive separation, duality, and impermanence as ultimate truths. In Vedantic teachings, Maya is the cosmic force that creates the material universe and keeps the soul entangled in the cycles of birth, death, and rebirth (samsara). It is not inherently negative but serves as a necessary part of the divine play (lila), challenging us to look beyond the surface and recognize the eternal, unchanging essence of the self (Atman) and its unity with the ultimate reality (Brahman). By piercing through the veil of Maya—through spiritual practice, self-awareness, and wisdom—one can transcend illusion, realize their true nature, and achieve liberation (moksha).
I have been in my study analsying chapter 12 of The Women Who Run with the Wolves , whilst opening my mouth, gasping and shaking my head on how every single chapter of this book comes alive in my psyche. I know ive read this book before at times of deep change and revelations in my life, however with the past years study of jungian psychology I have a whole new lens in which to see the book. Colletively it appears that each chapter strikes a chord in the astrological energy and also the womens lives who study it with me, its a sacred text, it comes alive in your life. Remember the neverending story , where the boy gets dragged into the book... well this book for those of you who havent read it, or those of you who have but didnt have the pscyhospiritual perspective to allow it to work through your psyche in a very active way, does exaclty that!
It digs into your life, your behaviour and your current situation and asks you to address the imprisonment of your wild soul once and for all. I believe the combination of the detailed analysis and the power of the myths make this book a force of feminine empowerment that really does need much discussion and analysis!
Myths, in the lens of psychospirituality, are more than ancient stories; they are profound symbolic maps of the human experience, guiding us through the complexities of life. They resonate deeply within our psyche because they reflect universal truths and archetypes—patterns of behavior and experience that dwell in the collective unconscious. Through these timeless narratives, myths offer insight into the cycles of transformation, from suffering and struggle to triumph and renewal. They serve as mirrors to our inner worlds, helping us understand our desires, fears, and potential. By engaging with myths, we connect with something larger than ourselves, bridging the personal with the universal. This connection is deeply healing, offering a sense of belonging and purpose while helping us navigate pivotal moments in our lives. Myths also serve as spiritual portals, revealing truths about the soul’s journey and our relationship to the divine. When we actively explore or reinterpret myths, we not only gain greater self-awareness but also awaken the possibility of reshaping our own life narratives, transforming our challenges into pathways for growth and spiritual alignment. When working with them I find them incredibly power and supernaturally alive in myself and the others I work with , the phrase ' this is so timely' is often expressed and I give a little wink to the Gods of myth!
In this Chapter 12 where anger and rage are discussed in detail and how the repression of them causes so much soul loss in women , and oh my lord I so see this daily in the women who come to work with me ... its also speaks of the Veils of Illusion . I will be covering the veils in the session on Monday(,https://www.templedelarose.com/chapter-twelve-marking-territory 16th DECEMBER 2024 7pm Paris time, if you want to join ) My oh my ! this week with lots of events that have really tested me the veils of illusion fell around many people in my life. I dont wish to use this to project outside of myself , but in realising their shadow behaviours, that I so denied, dressed up, hid from myself for so many reasons ... I just gasped at myself and was able to arm myself with a whole other amount of shadow work i need to do on myself. The veils fall to reveal your own untruths as well as others and well I truly needed this medicine so that I could move on and makes sense of many things.
This is a time in our collective that the veils of illusions are dropping about ourselves, others and the structures of the world. It would be a good time to try to see where you are in illusion about others and therefore yourself. Here are three questions that might help:
"What story do you tell yourself about who you are, and how might that story be limiting your true potential?"
"What fears or beliefs keep you attached to certain perceptions of reality, even if they no longer serve you?"
"If you were to release the need for control, validation, or certainty, what truth might emerge about your life and purpose?"
Hope this helps during this very intense time, when life is really trying to show us much about ourselves.

This correlates with how people who were assuming things might have turned out differently can get in touch with anger and deep hurt, rather than push it down more. That’s important to remember day to day. Self check in on the repressed emotions. 💜
