As Venus descends as the Evening Star, she invites us into a different relationship with the feminine — one that is less concerned with who we have learned to be, and more interested in what lies beneath those identities.
Throughout our lives, we form versions of ourselves in response to love, belonging, rejection, beauty, desirability, responsibility and survival. We may become the pleasing woman, the strong woman, the needed woman, the desirable woman, the invisible woman, the independent woman, the woman who over-gives, waits, accommodates, performs or keeps everything together. These identities may once have protected us, helped us belong, or taught us how to move through the world, but there comes a point when an old feminine self can no longer carry us forward.
This class explores the psychoastrology of Venus in descent and what happens when the Venusian function begins to turn inward.
We will look at the old versions of ourselves that still shape our choices, relationships, desires and sense of worth, alongside the shadows of Venus that can emerge beneath them: jealousy, comparison, fear of not being chosen, over-giving, resentment, vanity, the need for validation, fear of ageing, hidden desire and the places where we have confused being wanted with being valued.
Through teaching, discussion and a guided worksheet, you will begin to identify the women you have been, what each of them was protecting, what she gave you, what she may have cost you, and which parts of her you are now ready to outgrow.
This is not about rejecting the woman you once were. It is about becoming conscious of her.
We will close with an Evening Star meditation, descending into the inner feminine landscape to meet the parts of yourself that have been waiting beneath the identities you have carried, and to sense the woman who is beginning to emerge as the old self loosens its hold.
