I go on at least two pilgrimages a year, why? Because I am a spiritual seeker, I am thirsty to connect to God, the Great Mother, spirit,  the unconscious realms, the mystery, and the magic to make sure that I do not live my life in the mundane.  I want all this world has to offer, especially the realms of the mystical, magical, and mysterious. I Want to experience that feeling of my soul connecting to something bigger, greater than me, to experience if only for a few seconds my vastness, my connectedness to all things, how spiritual I am, how alive I am, and how bloody amazing it is to be a spiritual being in a physical body. I go to transform, to come back with something different going on inside of me, something that has changed and creates a pocket of transformation in my life, or sometimes and this has happened to me a BIG TRANSFORMATION that changes my entire life from how I left it! 

 

 A pilgrimage is such a unique and personal experience, even in a big group of pilgrims, there will be no experience the same. We come with different longings, feelings, things that need healing, parts that need reconnecting, and the parts of us we have forgotten… there is so much that unravels and reveals itself. Some come with an intention,  others with an openness to being shown.  Whatever you decide to go on a pilgrimage for you will be sure to find transformation. That’s why we go,  because something happens inside of us, something shifts and creates transformation. If we make this conscious, the more profound it is ...

 Richard Rohr states  “When we return home in three weeks or less, if no interior journey has happened, we really haven’t made a pilgrimage. Understand? We’ve just been tourists. We’ve travelled around and said, “I saw this, and I saw that, and I bought this,” and so forth. But that’s what a tourist does, not a pilgrim. And God has called us on pilgrimage.

 When I hold space for a pilgrimage I am aware that the pilgrims will encounter this profound experience if the container allows, if it really holds the shape of a pilgrimage and not just a tour, a nice week a visit. I want to create the space for the transformation by providing :

  

 The feeling of answering God’s Call

 Space for Transformation

 Prayer time 

 Ceremony and ritual 

 Connection  ( to others, nature,  the land, places, energies, and to yourself) 

 Working with the elements

 Meditation 

 Time for just being

 Silence

 Journaling to bring the unconscious forward 

 Posing thought-provoking and unconscious-stirring questions 

 Visiting Sacred spaces

 Discussions

 Discussing our dreams on the journey and the messages they hold from ancestors, God, and spirit.

 Holding opposing beliefs, thoughts, and views

 Moving the body to release, open, and embody

  

 You will find this on the pilgrimages I am part of, I will honor this space of sacred transformation. The more I make my pilgrimage a God-conscious devotion the more they come to me and the invitations to host and take part in them for the next two years are beyond magical! 

 The land I live on is a sacred space, a space that I have always planned to bring people on pilgrimage to, its given me many lessons, asks me to be devotional to it, hardworking on it, working with it as my own transformations allow for new springs to burst and new herbs to grow, different species of animals to present their spirit and their lessons, the trees that teach their lessons and the water to remind us of the flow of life, as well as the turbulence and unpredictability! And let’s not forget the rocks that hold the memories of those that came before us. I have been served my lessons here, what I thought I would do here has been thwarted by what the land wants me to do and I am finally at peace with that. As I journey this year back to hosting and holding pilgrimages away from my land, I am reminded to bring the pilgrims here, there are lessons for everyone and transformation available to all…
