🌹1. The Awakening Call — The Sacred Disruption
“There is something inside me that’s no longer willing to stay quiet.”
Essence:
This is a sacred summoning. It often starts subtly; a growing dissatisfaction, an emptiness that no career success, family role, or relationship can soothe. Often misdiagnosed as depression, a midlife crisis, stress or burnout, it’s actually the soul knocking on your door, saying LET ME OUT!
Feminine Lens:
Women at this stage begin to sense the false self they've had to uphold; the good girl, the mother, the partner, the healer. This awakening can be terrifying, especially if one has spent decades attending to others' needs. Where you overgive- overtend will come crashing down on you and be ripped away often into a ‘crisis’.
Key Feelings:
Restlessness, numbness, irritation, grief, shame, burnt out, tiredness, had enough, irrational and longing.
Psycho-Spiritual Insight:
This stage marks the call to individuation : a shift from outer roles to inner truth. Something ancient is stirring. The woman begins to realize: “My life has served others. Now I must meet my own soul.”
🌹2. The Descent — The Shedding of Skins
“I am not who I was. But I don’t yet know who I am becoming.”
Essence:
This is the Inanna moment: the descent into the underworld. Old identities are stripped away, one by one. This may manifest in career changes, divorces, splitting from partners, friendship losses, family chaos and fall outs, health crises, or spiritual breakdowns. Nothing feels solid.
Feminine Lens:
The woman no longer belongs to her roles. Her womb, psyche, and heart begin to reject what once felt essential. There’s a fierce pull toward truth, stillness, death and rebirth.
🌹3. The Body Remembers — Listening to the Inner Oracle
“My body is not betraying me. She is becoming my truth-teller.”
Essence:
As hormones shift, the body begins to speak louder. What was once ignored can no longer be bypassed ; fatigue, inflammation, disease, poor health, sickness, womb pain, or mood swings may arise.
Feminine Wisdom:
This is not pathology , it is awakening. The body demands rest, pleasure, nourishment, and expression. The feminine at midlife is called to come home to the flesh and bones temple she lives in. We really must find and do the things that bring us joy.
Psycho-Spiritual Insight:
When we stop fighting the body, she reveals her deeper messages: “I remember. Let me lead.”
🌹4. Rage, Grief, and Holy Disobedience
“I will no longer abandon myself to keep the peace.”
Essence:
At this stage, unexpressed rage and grief rise like tidal waves. Rage for betrayals: including self-betrayal. Grief for the lost years, lost dreams, and silenced voice. The energy of the Dark Goddess is fully alive here. Some women will hold this in and not allow it to surface and get sick , depressed, something is trying to show them that they need to release and heal. Shadow work becomes even more important.
Shadow Work:
Reclaiming the inner fire
Allowing righteous anger to move
Healing the very things you know you have supressed.
Grieving the inner child and her unmet needs
Naming desires and longings without shame
Doing what you WANT
Ignoring the opinion of others
Why This Is Vital:
If we do not honour this fire, it turns inward (depression, self-hatred, autoimmunity). When we give it sacred space, it becomes the fuel for transformation.
5. The Wild Soul Returns
“I am unbecoming what was never truly mine.”
Essence:
Emerging from the underworld, the woman begins to feel the first flickers of her wild soul returning. She laughs louder. She says no more often. She makes room for pleasure and sacred solitude. She feels a new life calling her and she must make changes, because if she stays the same, if she lives the same, she knows she will enter into the slow decay of stagnancy.
Rewilding Means:
Allowing things to develop naturally (on the body, or in the soul)
Restoring creative expression — dancing, painting, writing, anything that allows SELF EXPRESSION
Reclaiming intuition, nature time, cyclical living
🌹6. Claiming Sacred Autonomy
“I do not belong to a system, a man, or an old dream. I belong to myself.”
Essence:
Now comes the reclamation of sovereignty. The woman begins to reorder her life around her inner compass. She reclaims time, sexuality, values, spiritual path, money, and her voice. She really lives very differently from everyone else , and DOESN’T CARE, people will talk about her , and even condemn her in all ways , because she brings something up in their own stuckness they are not willing to see.
From: People-pleasing → To: Soul-alignment
From: Perfectionism → To: Authenticity
From: Martyrdom → To: Mutuality and self-respect
Feminine Power:
She becomes Queen of her own Queendom — not to dominate, but to hold sacred dominion over her life energy.
🌹7. Re-enchantment & Redirection — Living Soul-Led
“The second half of life is for my soul. I walk now as an elder-in-training.”
Essence:
Midlife is not a fading: it is a second spring. I AGE and that is a beautiful thing, a privildedge and I open this allowance to all women, show them the way, allow them to wrinkle, allow them to change, allow them to be talked about and untamed! The woman may redirect her energy into new callings — healing, writing, travel, priestess work, or simple beauty. This is not about doing more but living truer.
Psycho-Spiritual Integration:
She knows who she is. She doesn't need applause. She walks slowly, loves fiercely, and makes art of her life. She may upset many by the way she lives, what she believes and says and is seen as unconventional to most .
THIS IS LEGACY WORK!
This phase often births the great work: a book, a garden, a retreat, a mentorship offering, or a deep form of transmission to younger women. A woman realises this is the time of her life when she is MOST POTENT and transformational and that all her life has led her to this reclamation.
