WHY MYTHS AND FAIRYTALES ARE MEDICINE FOR THE FEMININE SOUL

Myth and fairy tale are medicine for the feminine soul because they speak directly to the symbolic and emotional layers of the psyche where true transformation occurs. Women do not heal only through logic, information or productivity. The feminine psyche responds deeply to image, story, archetype, rhythm, symbol, dream and meaning. Myths bypass the surface personality and enter the deeper waters of the unconscious where instinct, memory, longing and soul reside. I have been experiencing profound insights into my psyche and souls direction through this work.
For centuries women have learned through stories. They sat around fires, in circles, through oral traditions and sacred tales, women were taught about initiation, betrayal, desire, loss, creativity, motherhood, sexuality, death, rebirth and awakening. Fairy tales carried encoded wisdom about the feminine journey long before psychology existed. They helped women understand that periods of exile, descent, heartbreak, rage, numbness, longing and transformation were not signs of failure, but part of the soul’s unfolding path
In Jungian psychology, myths and fairy tales are powerful because the psyche itself speaks symbolically. Dreams, fantasies and archetypal stories arise from the same unconscious depths. When women encounter myths such as Sleeping Beauty, Persephone, Inanna or Psyche, something ancient within recognises itself. These stories awaken memory within the feminine psyche. They remind women of lost instincts, buried creativity, hidden eros, sovereignty and the deeper rhythms of life.Myth is also medicine because it restores imagination to the feminine soul. In a world obsessed with speed, performance and surface identity, myth returns women to mystery, feeling, embodiment and symbolic depth. It invites women back into relationship with the unseen life within them.
Through myth, suffering gains meaning, wounds become initiatory and the soul begins to remember its own language once again . My work has been incorporating Myth, Fairy story , Goddess and Archetypes for some time.
I would love to know which Myth or Fairy story is your favourite and if your In my inner temple I will give you a sentence to tell you why that one psychologically calls you .
