LADY BIRD SYMBOLOGY

These last two weeks something curious happened in my home, Ladybirds began appearing everywhere; On the windows, all over my ceilings and in quiet corners of the house. Gathering gently in clusters as if they had chosen this place for shelter.
I knew it was symbolic, i have welcomed the Lady bugs since living here being a grower of roses, she protects the rose , eats the aphids that threaten the new blooms. Nature often mirrors the psyche in ways that are far more poetic than we realise.
Across Europe the ladybird has always been considered a sacred insect of fortune. The name itself comes from “Our Lady’s Bird”, referring to the feminine divine or Mother Marym a creature long associated with protection, blessing, fertility and the quiet guardianship of the household.
Farmers once welcomed ladybirds into their fields because they protected crops from harm. They were seen as small protectors of life. And there is something about their presence that carries a particular energy: the deep red shell echoes the colour of life force, blood, passion, and fertility. The black spots have been linked in folklore to cycles of fate and the turning of destiny. Tiny creatures, carrying the symbolism of the feminine mysteries on their backs.
When many appear together, old folklore interpreted it as a sign that fortune and protection were entering the home. Psychologically, moments like this can also mirror a deeper transition. Animals and insects often appear symbolically when we are standing between chapters of life ( especially what is happening for me right now) between what has been and what is about to unfold. Ladybirds themselves gather before seasonal shifts, they seek warmth and protection before the turning of the weather. They are creatures of thresholds, appearing when cycles are about to change.
And perhaps this is why their presence feels so meaningful to me right now as my life sits in the cusp of great change.

Something new is incubating.
The symbolic language of the ladybird
• A symbol of feminine protection and blessing
• A creature long associated with the divine feminine and the archetype of “The Lady”
• A sign of small but powerful life force entering a space
• A reminder that fortune often arrives quietly rather than dramatically
• A creature of seasonal thresholds, appearing when cycles are turning
• A symbol of gentle power — beauty combined with fierce protection
• A message that transformation can begin in the smallest ways
In old European folklore, the ladybird is also linked to Venus ; the goddess of love, beauty, fertility, and feminine fortune. ( My ruling planet) Their deep red shell carries the colour of Venusian life force, the same current that moves through passion, creativity, sensuality, and the generative power of nature. For this reason they were often seen as tiny messengers of the love goddess, arriving quietly to bless a home. When many appear together it was traditionally interpreted as a Venusian blessing, a sign that the feminine current of life , love, beauty, creativity, and good fortune — is moving through the space and gently seeding a new chapter. 🐞🌹
These tiny red guardians gathering gently in the temple of the home. speak to me of my change and the one coming to the women who will take part in my next teaching THE 13 ROSES🌹
