FRIDAY 13th DAY OF THE GODDESS

Today is a Goddess day; a remembering of ancient times when women gathered to honour the magic of being a woman, the sanctity of the feminine, and the living intelligence of the body. 13 is a divine feminine number: the 13 lunar cycles that move through a year, the tides of blood and moon, the rhythm of release and renewal. A temple-number. A womb-number. A wisdom-number.

In the ancient temples, days like this were held as holy thresholds and included ritual recognitions of the feminine order of life. Women entered the sanctuary to tend the flame, the water, the oils, the incense, and the songs; devotion was part of their every day life and heightened on days like today . Offerings would have been made to the Divine Mother, the feminine , the Goddess in all her facets. Dedications and devotions made for what must be released, vows were spoken for what must be protected, and women were re-anchored into their voice — because the temple was not only a place of beauty, it was a place where a woman remembered she belongs to herself, and where her truth was treated as a divine language.

There is potent energy available today in this numerical portal and we can ask ourself the following, this also co-incides beautifully with the last days of the snake year.

What must be shed?
Not only the obvious weight, but the learned womans weight: the way we have trained ourselves to be palatable, the way we have swallowed words to keep the peace, the way we have edited our truth until it fits inside someone else’s comfort. It asks women to admit the places we have been complicit in our own repression so that we can liberate ourselves from it. There are moments we have all quit our own voice, when we went quiet to avoid consequences. The moments we stayed agreeable while something in us was saying this is not okay. The moments we put up with behaviour that shrank us, because we feared being “too much,” feared upsetting someone, feared being disliked, feared being left. This is deep inside of all of us as women and we must weed it out with self love.

What is ready to emerge?
We must stop abandoning ourself with the don’t say it, don’t rock it, don’t ask for more, don’t make it awkward — and yet STILL SPEAKS. A woman who understands that her sensitivity is not a flaw, her standards are not cruelty, her boundaries are not drama, and that clarity is not an attack.

The ancient Priestess vow was never to soft wallpaper spirituality but to return to sacred reality.

So let this be the vow:

I will not betray myself to be loved.
I will not shrink my truth to be chosen.
I will not confuse endurance with devotion.
I will not call my intuition “overthinking” when it is actually knowing.
I will not make myself smaller so someone else can stay unchallenged.

And when the old story rises — I feel too much. I ask too much. I’m difficult. I’ll upset them.

And instead ...

Then let me be too much for what is not enough.
Let me upset what depends on my silence.
Let me be disliked by what profits from my compliance.
Let me be the woman who tells the truth and survives it.

Hold the temple space for yourself, be devotional to you and honour the voice that has been gifted to you, when so many others are silenced.
