The Legend of Arthur at Mont Saint-Michel

The story begins with King Arthur hearing of a giant who had kidnapped and killed many, including a local duke’s niece and, in some versions, a Roman princess. The giant had taken up residence on Mont Saint-Michel, a dramatic rocky island with steep cliffs. Determined to stop the devastation, Arthur set out with his knights to confront the creature.
When Arthur arrived at Mont Saint-Michel, he climbed the perilous heights of the island to face the giant. A fierce battle ensued, during which Arthur displayed extraordinary courage and strength. Ultimately, he slew the giant, freeing the region from its terror and cementing his reputation as a heroic defender of the innocent. Some versions of the tale emphasize the spiritual significance of Arthur’s victory, portraying it as a triumph of good over evil on sacred ground.
I am a Teacher who is aware of the polarity of light and dark , and on a deep journey of illusions through spirituality and much teaching and analysis through Jungian psychology, know that i am in an illusion if i see something as ALL LIGHT. The brain is rewired through deep analysis of your own darkness and shadow to see polarity in all things, to understand shadow is the place where light is born and that the two co-exists in ALL, unless it has undergone transformation or individuation ( and who honestly has really made that! ) Many people are afraid to venture into their own shadow deep enough to come out and see it co-exist in all things. It has been revelationary for me to go to many places and not be dazzled by the light, but to be aware of its polarity ...
So here is my second sharinf on Mont Michel, seeing as it was of interest ...
The giant of Mont Saint-Michel symbolizes a primal, unbridled dark energy that represents the shadow aspects of human nature and the natural world—chaos, greed, destruction, and unchecked power. This colossal figure embodies the forces that threaten to consume innocence and harmony, mirroring the inner battles we face against fear, ego, and the desire for control. In Arthurian legend, the giant’s presence atop Mont Saint-Michel—an island often seen as sacred ground—suggests that even the most hallowed spaces are not immune to shadow energies. It is only through courage, self-awareness, and the willingness to confront this darkness that one can restore balance and reclaim the sacred. King Arthur’s defeat of the giant becomes a metaphor for transcending the shadow through conscious action and the triumph of light over destructive forces, both within and without.
The giant embodies this buried energy: the fears, wounds, and primal instincts that we often suppress or deny. Mont Saint-Michel, a place of spiritual significance, becomes a stage for this revelation—showing that even in the most sacred places, the shadow lingers, waiting to be acknowledged.
The giant’s presence beneath the mountain challenges us to see that true transformation requires not just reaching for the light but descending into and integrating the depths. It is only by confronting the shadow that we can reclaim the fullness of our power and step into true wholeness.
I felt it all there ... and this photograph captures the polarity of my other one.. what do you think?
